NHS Health Check

More than 2,000 people in Medway have now had their NHS Health Check, and a further 5,500 have been invited in, following the launch of the new service earlier this year.

The NHS Health Check assesses the individual risk for people aged between 40 and 74 of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke and kidney disease.

People are being invited in by their practice in a phased way, linked to their birthdate.  The check will be offered to all eligible patients every five years and further information is available at www.medwaypct.nhs.uk/nhshealthcheck.
